The Devil's Daughter
On June 7th, 1992, the body of a young woman, Katie Radcliff, was discovered in Farnborough, England, three miles away from the nightclub she had been, with her friends, the night before in Camberley.
She had been stabbed 27 times, and some of the stab wounds went right THROUGH her body. What was even more disturbing, is that when her body was examined by the Coroner, it was discovered her sex organs had been mutilated and it was determined that even after Katie had died, the perpetrator had continued to stab her.
It was assumed that this murder had been committed by a man and they decided to focus on male suspects who had been at the same club as Katie and her friends the night she was murdered.
However, as the weeks and months slipped by, Katie's case turned cold.
Exactly two years later, a 14 year old female secondary student in Camberley, Ann-Marie Clifford, was lured to the girl's room by another 14 year old student, Sharon Carr. Sharon had told Ann-Marie that she needed help finding a Pound Coin that she had lost. Once in the washroom, and once her back was turned, Sharon plunged a knife deep in Ann-Marie's back where it ended up piercing one of her lungs. As Ann-Marie lay dying on the floor, Sharon stood over her with an evil grin, tossing the knife back and forth in her hands.
Unfortunately for Sharon, but fortunate for Ann-Marie, a group of girls walked in to the bathroom, they alerted a member of staff and the authorities were called and Ann-Marie rushed to the hospital.
Ann-Marie would survive the attack, but she would be both physically and mentally scarred.
Sharon Carr was taken into custody and sent to juvenile detention where she would spend the next few years.
During her time there, Sharon was difficult and troublesome. Though she never killed anyone, she often made threats to do so to other inmates. It was also while Sharon was at this institution, she started bragging about other crimes she had committed. One such crime she boasted about was a young woman she had stabbed to death in 1992, when she was TWELVE years old, a young woman named Katie Radcliff.
Staff at the institution over heard Sharon talking about Katie's death, and the authorities were brought in to question Sharon.
And Sharon didn't hold back OR deny the claims. She admitted to every grisly detail concerning Katie's death. Afterwards, a search warrant was issued for the home where Sharon had lived with her mother, and there they discovered Sharon's Diaries.
One entry read...
"I was born to be a murderer. Killing for me is a mass turn-on and it just makes me so high I never want to come down. Every night I see the Devil in my dreams — sometimes even in my mirror, but I realise it’s just me"
When the press got a handle on this diary entry, they began calling Sharon 'The Devil's Daughter.'
When looking in to Sharon's past, authorities discovered she did not have a good upbringing at all. Her father was an alcoholic who beat his wife and daughter daily. However, Sharon's mother was not much better. She was cold and manipulative and quick to temper.
Sharon Carr is now 41 years old (as of 2021 when this post was written) and she is still incarcerated in England, but she now spends her days locked away in a high security mental institution. And it is highly unlikely she will ever be released. She is still considered to be a danger to society.
To this day, Sharon Carr still holds the record for being The Youngest Serial Killer in England's history.
